Facial Cosmetic Surgery by J.A. Bartlett MD FRCS (C), specializing in Rhinoplasty and Facial Rejuvenation

Restylane®

Used in millions of procedures worldwide since 1996, Restylane is a safe proven method to restore volume to the face, softening wrinkles and folds and enhancing the lips.

It is composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already present in the human body. Once the crystal- clear Restylane gel is injected into the skin(dermis), it integrates into the dermal tissue and attracts and binds to water molecules to help maintain tissue volume. This translates into softening or eliminating facial wrinkles and folds and creating fuller, better defined lips.

There are 3 products available in the Restylane line. These are designed with three different gel particle sizes that are utilized for different effects and purposes. Dr Bartlett chooses the right product combination to create the look you want.

  • Restylane Fine lines - for fine lines around the mouth or eyes.
  • Restylane – for lip enhancement and filling of most facial lines
  • Perlane – For deeper nasolabial folds and in some cases of lip augmentation.

Restylane treatment can be performed in minutes in the office and in most instances people can carry on with their normal day.

Restylane provides results lasting up to six months. The product disappears so slowly that you have ample time to maintain your appearance with follow-up treatments. Because the results are long-lasting but not permanent, you have the flexibility to keep the same look or make adjustments over time. Restylane is the most commonly used temporary filler, having been used in over 3 million procedures worldwide since 1996. Other temporary fillers available include Teoseal and radiesse.
